Hospital management of Bacterial Meningitis in adults.

Blood culture results: Listeria monocytogenes:

• Amoxicillin IV 2g four hourly for at least 21 days
• If penicillin allergic contact microbiology for advice
• Gentamicin may be added but this should be discussed with Infectious diseases/microbiology 

Antibiotic therapy may change on microbiology advice in light of further culture and sensitivity results.
